Pricing

I charge $0.025 per square inch for all designs.

Example: A quilt top is 50 inches x 60 inches.

50 x 60 = 3000 x .025 = $75.

The minimum quilting charge is $50.

I stock Glide 40wt threads. I don't charge any extra fees for thread use, it's included in your square inch price.

My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.

Photography

I'm not a professional photographer but I do my best to take "nice" photos with my "good" camera! :) Upon completion of the quilting, I will take photos of your quilt in my well-lit studio and then text/email you those images to use however you would like. I'd just ask that you credit me for the photo and/or quilting if posting publicly. This extra service is included in your square inch price.

Extras

Batting

Batting is a separate charge and is not included in the square inch price. I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting, except in the case of special orders.  I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.

For example, if you have a 50" x 60" quilt, I would cut 55" of the batting of your choice.

I stock my favorite Quilters Dream batting in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend, 100% cotton, and in the 100% poly. I can order other fiber varieties of Quilter's Dream batting at your request. Detailed pricing for batting is available on quilt booking form.

Quilt Preparation

To ensure the best possible results, quilts must be properly prepared before loading. Backing fabric should extend at least 4 inches beyond the quilt top on all sides and be square (you can find full preparation guidelines on the Quilt Prep page). If additional time is required to prepare your quilt- such as squaring or trimming the backing, addressing insufficient backing, or repairing open seams- and "extra care" fee may be applied. Any additional fees will be reviewed and discussed with you prior to beginning your project- no one likes surprises! These steps help ensure everything loads straight and stitches out smoothly, avoiding issues during the quilting process.

Applique

Quilts that include applique will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Due to the additional time and care required, an additional fee will apply. I'm happy to review your quilt in advance with you to determine applicable fees before quilting begins.

Shipping

I live in San Antonio, TX, and would be happy to meet in person to pick up your quilt and review design choices. If you choose to send your top and backing by mail,  I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of plastic bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and using a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.

I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/ economical). Priority mail comes with $100 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it. Once your quilt has been shipped, I am not responsible for loss or damage during transit.

Other Costs

I'm required by the State of Texas to collect a 8.25% sales tax on batting and quilting service.

Payment

After the work is complete, I will send you an invoice. Payment can be made on my website. I really do appreciate timely payments as that enables me to mail your project(s) back to you right away.
